Mortise and Tenon

A mortise and tenon joint, joins two components through the fitting of a 'peg' (the tenon), in a 'hole' (the mortise). The two components are usually perpendicular to each other, although this is not always the case.

There are numerous variants, all of which make strong joints due to the mechanical interface and the pair of long grain to long grain glue surfaces present
